Provenance Single Cask Bottlings von Douglas Laing

 

Die Provenance Serie ist Whiskykennern und Liebhabern von Single Cask Abfüllungen schon langem ein Begriff. Ins Leben gerufen 1999 ist sie seit Jahren eine zuverlässige Quelle für junge und sehr hochwertige Einzelfassabfüllungen. Nun hat der 1943 gegründete Abfüller Douglas Laing der alten Serie ein komplett neues Design verpasst, modern und doch ursprünglich. Mit dem neuen Design erscheinen gleich sechs neue Abfüllungen. Darunter Talisker, Auchentoshan oder Dailuaine. Die Whiskys sind von gewohnt hoher Qualität und dennoch moderat im Preis. Provenance heißt übersetzt soviel wie „Herkunft – Ursprung“

Auchentoshan 13 Years Old Lowlands Single Malt, 46,0% vol. | 0,70ltr | 59,90 Euro

Nose: Opens with a fruit candy sweetness, with a mildly spiced quality and green malt Palate: Still sweet with fresh fruit and vanilla, plus a homebaked quality and butterscotch Finish: Medium long, sweet and fruity, running to orange-pith and a drying tannic style

 

Tamdhu 8 Years Old Speyside Single Malt 46,0% vol. | 0,70ltr | 54,90 Euro
Nose: Sweet, fresh and fragrant, with a crushed sugar quality and vanilla – home baked style
Palate: Still sweet, now with barley sugar and gently spices, developing to caramel
Finish: Medium long, spicy and sweet, with a lingering vanilla fudge character

 

Glenallachie 7 Years Old Sherry Cask Speyside Single Malt 46,0% vol. | 0,70ltr | 54,90 Euro
Nose: Opens fabulously fruited with marmalade, pastry, spices, barley and Sherry
Palate: Big and full of macerated red fruits, plus orange rind, honey and cranachan
Finish: Full of cereal sweetness, more of the same flavours and specifically more orange

 

Dailuaine 7 Years Old; 46 % Sherry Cask Speyside Single Malt 46,0% vol. | 0,70ltr | 49,00 Euro

Nose: Opens distinctly toffee’d, like opening a box of caramel chocolates, and sweet spices
Palate: Still sweetly spiced, balanced with a butterscotch quality and a dried cherries style
Finish: Medium long with a Muscovado sugar character, running drier with a hint of oak

 

Talisker 7 Years Old Highlands Single Malt 46,0% vol. | 0,70ltr | 74,90 Euro
Nose: Distinctly peaty in character, and sweetness balanced with a salty, maritime style Palate: Sweet and smoky, briny with seaside rock pools, and late damp bonfire ashes Finish: Long, with soft leather, salted liquorice and a lingering soft smoke character

 

Bunnahabhain 8 Years Old Highlands Single Malt 46,0% vol. | 0,70ltr | 56,90 Euro
Nose: Opens roundly and full of smoke and grist, then soften to a citric style Palate: It's oily and coats the mouth in barley sugar, gentle smoke, salt and peat Finish: All of those lead to gentle spices, coal dust, and a hint of oak
